WELCOME TO THE MAINE RESOURCE PAGE FOR PSI. We are glad you found us. This page lists the PSI Coordinators and other area resources such as groups, telephone support, and reliable services that are available for no charge. We also list local events, trainings, and volunteer opportunities.

PLEASE CONTACT YOUR PSI COORDINATOR: PSI Coordinators offer caring and informed support and resources to moms and their families. They also provide information and resources for area providers who are caring for pregnant and postpartum families. Please don’t hesitate to contact us; we want to hear from you.

You will see the term “perinatal” in these pages. We use perinatal to mean the time during pregnancy, birth, and through the first year postpartum.

We will return your call or email as quickly as we can, but we can not provide an immediate response in an emergency. SUPPORT GROUPS

The following groups offer support at no charge for women who are at risk of or are experiencing distress such as isolation, depression, anxiety, fearful thoughts, insomnia, trauma, and other difficulties during pregnancy or postpartum. Support groups provide a safe and caring place for connection and recovery. Please call or email for more information.

Maine Medical Center Family Birth Center

Having a baby is a joyous time for most women, but it is also common for new mothers to feel sad, lonely, afraid, or anxious after childbirth. Sometimes it helps to talk with another woman who is experiencing similar feelings. You are not alone! Join us weekly for support and education.

Midcoast Support Group Rockport

Have you recently had a baby? Are you feeling happy and sad or nervous and overwhelmed?
Pregnancy and your baby’s birth may include some unexpected “highs and lows”.This informal group provides support and information for mothers during this confusing time.

Drop-ins are always welcome; pre-registration is encouraged. Babies are welcome. The group is facilitated by a Registered Nurse and a Perinatal Social Worker.
